G5 Engineering Leadership

Jason Pernell, MBA, EE
President and CEO

In his role as President, Jason Pernell oversees projects, consults on electrical engineering design and functionality, and leads business development efforts for G5 Engineering Solutions. Jason earned both a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering and a Master of Business Administration from Florida State University (FSU). He is a member of the Project Management Institute and holds a Master Certificate in Project Management from Villanova University.

Throughout his career, Jason has garnered a great deal of experience in both project management and electrical engineering. Before co-founding G5 Engineering Solutions, he served as principal, treasurer and project manager for AP Professional Services deploying Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) projects for Siemens and Continental Automotive. He also previously worked as a program manager for Elbit Systems, managing multiple PC-based computer hardware and software systems, and as an electrical engineer for Tallahassee Technologies, General Dynamics Land Systems and the FSU Physics Department.

VP Engineering and CTO

As Vice President of Engineering, Craig Kirkland provides associate and project oversight and consultation. Craig has a unique background in systems architecture, engineering design and strategic operations that helps him identity business needs and connects them with solutions offered by G5 Engineering Solutions. His diverse professional background includes high technology product design for manufacturing, systems integration, engineering, network operations, quality assurance, client support and marketing.

Prior to co-founding G5 Engineering Solutions, Craig served as vice president of business development for AP Professional Services and previously headed engineering teams in Tallahassee, Fla. for Elbit Systems of America, Tallahassee Technologies and FASBAC Enterprises. He also worked as a software engineer for E-Systems in St. Petersburg, Fla., Martin Marietta Electronic Systems and Martin Marietta Missile Systems in Orlando, Fla.

Craig holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science with a minor in Mathematics from Northeast Louisiana University and a Master of Science in Computer Science with an emphasis on Logic Design and Switching Theory from the Florida Institute of Technology.

Herb Gingold, BSEE, MBA
Vice President of Business Development

Herb Gingold is the Vice President of Business Development for G5 Engineering Solutions. G5 is a full-service engineering solutions provider offering expertise in electrical, software, mechanical and system design. We execute your project from concept to production and realize success by leveraging our unique professional experience along with our business and technical backgrounds. G5 consists of class leading engineers and project managers driven to employ the latest tools and techniques to deliver successful products and services.

Mr. Gingold began his career in engineering at a very early age, experimenting with electronics and engineering as a hobby. After 4 years with the US Navy as an electronics technician on the flight deck of an aircraft carrier. Mr. Gingold worked at various engineering firms as a technician eventually joining Martin Marietta (now Lockheed Martin). Working full time while attending college resulted in a Bachelor of Science Electrical Engineering degree, Summa Cum Laud, from the University of Central Florida. Orlando, FL. Since leaving Martin Marietta Mr. Gingold has had a 20 year career in engineering support and sales, garnering awards for Applications Engineer of the Year from two of his former employers and three High Five awards at Texas Instruments. Mr. Gingold began a new phase in his career after completing an MBA at the University of Central Florida’s exclusive executive program, which resulted in his current role.

Additionally Mr. Gingold supports his Alma mater with volunteer work including being Chair of the Industry Advisory Board for the University of Central Florida CECS department, and is the current Chair of the CECS Alumni of the University of Central Florida. Mr. Gingold was also honored for his volunteer work with the University of Central Florida Engineering Department with a Jefferson award for volunteerism in 2012.
